Deposits
If you are not a current or previous customer in good standing with a minimum of one year of good payment history, a refundable deposit will also be required. The deposit must be paid in full prior to signing up for water service. Deposits are based on the average water usage over the previous 12 months. Deposits are payable by cash, money order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or debit card. This deposit will be credited to the account after 12 months of on-time payments, or upon termination of services, whichever comes first. Refunds are typically issued within 6 weeks of termination.
Account holders may request to terminate service by contacting Hesperia Water District at (760) 947-1840, by visiting the Water Billing counter inside Hesperia City Hall, or electronically. Account holders will be required to verify all personal information related to the account in order to terminate service. Water Billing requires a minimum notice of one business day to perform the turn-off of water services, as well as a forwarding address to send the final statement and/or any refund of deposit. Accounts are not closed, transferred, or re-opened automatically. It is the responsibility of each account holder to notify the Hesperia Water District to discontinue water service. Confirmation numbers and/or emails will be provided when the request is complete.
To terminate service electronically, submit the Termination Service Form or fax terminations to (760) 947-1218. Once the request is received by the office, a representative will contact the account holder at the phone number provided on the request to verify personal information. If you have any questions, please contact Water Billing at (760) 947-1840.
