Citizens On Patrol


The Hesperia Police Department’s Citizens On Patrol Unit (COPs) provides a wide range of services to the community including neighborhood patrol, traffic and parking control at community events, and traffic control during collision/major incident investigations.


Equestrian Patrol

Organizationally, the Hesperia Police Department’s Equestrian Patrol is a subdivision of the Citizen’s On Patrol Unit. On horseback, they also participate in many of the City’s events such as the Hesperia Days Parade.


Explorer Post

The Hesperia Police Department’s Explorer Post is one of the largest and most active in the County. The age range for membership in the Explorer Post is 14–20 years old.


Reserve Deputies

Reserve Deputies are sworn law enforcement personnel who volunteer their time to patrol the streets of Hesperia, working in partnership with full-time deputies.
