Public Safety
The City of Hesperia contracts with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department for its police services. The Hesperia Sheriff's Station is comprised of 72 total personnel. There are 55 sworn law enforcement personnel including: a Captain, a Lieutenant, 7 Sergeants, 5 Detectives, 40 Deputies, and 18 non-sworn employees that handle various administrative, clerical and technical Duties. In addition, Hesperia Sheriff's Station has 17 patrol cars, 15 unmarked vehicles, 2 patrol motorcycles, 2 off-highway motorcycles, and 7 4X4 trucks and a mobile command post. Fire Protection for the City of Hesperia is provided by the San Bernardino County Fire Department through a contractual agreement. The County Fire Department is a full service department, providing to the community; fire suppression, fire prevention and planning, disaster preparedness, hazardous materials management and emergency medical services. The department is 64 members strong and includes one shared Division Chief, three battalion chiefs, five prevention officers, and four clerical staff.
Equipment includes one 75’ paramedic aerial ladder truck, five paramedic engines (two wild land), one water tender, and four paramedic ambulances operating from one station of seven personnel, two stations of five personnel and one unmanned (reserve) station that also serves as the City’s hazardous disposal facility. Health
Hesperia has access to three medical centers with a total of 384 beds and 400 physicians in its surrounding areas. Both air and ground ambulance service are available twenty-four hours a day.
Education
The Hesperia Unified School District encompasses twelve elementary schools, three choice schools, four charter schools, three middle schools, and six high schools.

Employment Development Department
EDD Provides a comprehensive range of employment and training services in partnership with state and local agencies and organizations through the America’s Job Center of California(AJCC). Services available at no cost to assist in finding qualified and skilled workers through CalJOBS , assistance with job fairs/events, facilities and scheduling services to screen and interview applicants, and tax credit incentives. EDD will prepare up-to-date statistical information, demographics, and analyses impacting the State’s business climate.
San Bernardino Employment & Training Agency (SBETA)
Assist job seekers and businesses with their employment needs. The SBETA has long created workforce solutions for the areas employers and individuals through public and private partnerships. They provide cost-effective, quality programs and services that promote self-sufficiency and address the current and long-term needs of the areas employers. This is accomplished through partnerships and comprehensive employment resources.
