Civic Plaza Park
Overview
The Hesperia Civic Plaza Park is host to a variety of activities for the community. Conveniently located to the west of the Hesperia Library and City Hall on Smoketree Street, the park is used for activities including:
- Annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony
- Fall Safety Fair and Costume Contest
- Hesperia Barbeque Competition
Where is the Civic Plaza Park located?
- The park is located at 15833 Smoke Tree Street, behind Hesperia City Hall.
When is the park open?
- The park is open from dawn to 11pm daily, except during special events.
Can I reserve the Civic Plaza Park?
- No, the Civic Plaza Park, including the amphitheater, cannot be reserved but can be utilized on a first come, first served basis.
Can I use a bounce house in the Park?
- No. Because the Civic Plaza Park cannot be reserved, all areas must remain open for use by the public, except during special events.
Can I use a BBQ, fire-pit or fireworks in the Park?
- For safety reasons, BBQ grills and fire-pits are not allowed in the park. Fireworks are not allowed within the City limits.
Can I have a special event in the Park?
- All special events must be sponsored by either the City of Hesperia or the Hesperia Recreation and Park District, with appropriate permits. For information about obtaining a Special Events Permit, please contact the City’s Planning department at (760)947-1224.
Is alcohol allowed in the Park?
- No, the use of alcoholic beverages is not permitted at any time. “Alcohol use” means the presence of any beverage that contains any amount of alcohol.
Are dogs allowed in the park?
- Leashed dogs are allowed in the park. Pets must be picked up after at all times.
Is Power/Electricity available in the park?
- Power in the park is only available for use during special events by appropriately designated vendors. For information about obtaining a Special Events Permit, please contact the City’s Planning department at (760)947-1224.
